RoseI wasn't looking but there I stood

upon a garden of mostly weeds

Beneath my feet I saw it's stem

The vivid red of a rose in need

I made a garden to take it home

In my life i've never seen such beauty

in the breeze you could see pedals moving

it danced alone without a care

but for the time being it would need me there

I fell in love with the gentle green

the color of my heart saturated it's skin

The time had come I was no longer needed

I tried so hard but attempts were feeble

The rose I loved had now grown razor thorns

They ripped me open until i bled no more

Pedals withered from red to black

Now whats left is my heart of ash

This is a truly stunning image with a very apt title. The idea of making wishes and hoping they will come true is an aspect of childhood that everyone goes through. It is a harsh reality to learn that wishes hardly ever become reality but this image captures the naivety and hopefulness of youth in a beautiful way. The back-light from the sun adds to this idea of youth, with it appearing to be new and rising.

This image is also technically brilliant with the right amount of shutter speed to catch the details of the girl and sun while adding a slightly blurred look to the seed pods, showing their movement. A truly great and inspiring piece of art. Keep up the good work!
